NO SEX FOR YOU!! AND YOU! AND YOU!

So, it appears that the crazy son-of-a-bitch Warren Jeffs is at it again. First he bans his "faithful followers" from using ATV's, Children's toys, Bicycles, Trampolines or Swimming pools. Then he tells his "followers" that they MUST have an interview with his brother (the interim "leader") Lyle Jeffs to be "chosen" or they will "fry".

This last edict of his takes the proverbial cake;

He has "prophesied" that the world is going to end and the "walls of his prison will crumble and he will again be free". That in itself smacks of good old Joe Smith predicting that he would be 'freed from jail in Nauvoo and lead his people to the promised land' (that of course never happened, as we all know, he was whacked by a group of people that were pissed off about him screwing their under-age daughters) -- Prophet Warren's little prediction is about as believeable as all the other doomsayer predictions out there.

This isn't what takes the cake so to speak though.

Here is what does:

As the year comes to an end and the followers of Warren Jeffs await the apocalypse he has predicted, they're living under a challenging edict: they're forbidden to have sex until Jeffs is sprung from a Texas prison.

That's correct kids! NO NOOKIE for you till I get free!!! Either this guy is a complete jackwagon and just doesn't get it, or he thinks that by doing this it will pressure his believers to push hard for his release. I am betting on the latter more than the former.

The truly hilarious part of all this is that people are NOW leaving the FLDS 'faith' in droves. Looks like the power of PUSSY is more powerful that the word of the prophet? I know I would definitely leave a faith where sex was verboten. (Wait, I DID).

I am not sure why anyone would stay with the insane edicts he as passed down since he has been imprisoned. Not even a True Believer can swallow this crap for very long. It's not as tame as the "no earrings" edict to the LDS faithful although by far sillier.

Thought I would share some good humor today. It's been a while and this just struck me funny.

Happy new year to you all!!

Stupid Bigoted People

Yesterday afternoon I took a departure from my usual routine of writing my book, and watched some T.V. Normally, I don't watch much late afternoon T.V as there is rarely anything of any value on for me to watch.

Yesterday was an exception.

I don't know how many of you have ever watched Anderson Cooper's talk show, I never had before yesterday as I normally don't waste my time with the likes of Oprah, Dr. Drew, Donahue, Jerry Springer or any of their ilk. It's usually what I call "Opium for the masses".

The subject matter of this show though intrigued me. It was Muslims in America. On the show were a panel of "American Muslims". They I guess, have a show on TLC. I don't think I will ever watch the show as I do my best to stay away from "Reality T.V". These genuinly nice people seemed to be truly trying to "live the American dream" and just be who they were. Of course, there was a counterpoint to this panel, and you guessed it. It was a CRAZY "Christian" woman that did nothing but spout hate and venom at the guests.

It started out entertaining enough.

The "Crazy Lady" would say something to the effect of "Islam is NOT a religion" and Anderson would ask a question to the panel about her comments. I was AMAZED, the members of the panel never once got upset, irritated or angry. They maintained their cool even when the "Crazy Lady" spouted patently offensive rants about how Islam is "The most violent religion in the history of Earth." and how they "aren't good Muslims because they follow American Law". Never once did the members of the panel fall to her level of insults and degredation. I was impressed.

I was the one shouting and angry at the "Crazy Lady". Not because I was defending Islam. If you know me at all and have read ANY of my posts, I won't defend any religion as I don't buy into any of their dogmas. I am happy to listen to someone's point of view, but I don't defend any particular religion. I figure they are all fair game, ONLY if your argument is valid though.

Hers wasn't.

It was typical Right-Wing hate speak. Her uneducated rants and insults only served to make everyone that feels her same way look more like the Nuts they are.

My favorite part of the show was where she claimed that Islam killed more people than any other religion on earth. Ummmm. WRONG. Christianity has throughout history killed more people in the name of Jesus than all the wars ever fought COMBINED. I found it entertaining that she refused to acknowledge this even when a Christian Pastor, informed her of this. Her response was "No, I don't believe that". It just shows the delusional lies that these people tell themselves to continue in their little world of hate where they firmly believe that Jesus is "ok" with their delusion.

If there were a Jesus, I would guess from what I have read, and I have read that great work of fiction called the Bible. That fella would NOT be happy with her or any other hate spouting "christian" believer out there. I have a feeling that that fella would tell those folks to get right with themselves and follow the "Golden Rule". Oh, wait in their world that ONLY applies Christian to Christian.

In my final analysis of this show. I would have to say this: I think I would be happy to call the guests on the panel friends. They came off as genuine and understanding. They espoused more "christian" values than the Christian that was attacking them.

Way to go Guests!

Michigans new "Anti-Bullying" Law

So the "Social Conservatives" in Michigan decided it would be a good idea to pass an Anti-Bullying law. They even named it: "Matt's Safe School Law" after Matt Epling a student that killed himself after enduring years of bullying. On it's face this sounds great right? Michigan is finally catching up with the rest of the country and looking to stop bullying in it's schools and institutions right?

--Wrong--

Michigan is ONLY looking to stop bullying if you happen to bully someone of Christian belief. Yes, that's right. I was baffled when I read this. This law actually PROTECTS bullies from prosecution if they are bullying someone out of a "sincerely held religious belief or moral conviction". No that isn't a typo, if you feel that you are morally justified in bullying someone, you WILL NOT be held accountable for those actions in Michigan.

This law also has the following provisions; it does NOT require School Districts to report incidents of bullying, no provisions for enforcement of the law, no teacher training and it does NOT hold adminstrators of the schools accountable if the fail to act on any reports of bullying. It does NOT list any groups as protected OTHER THAN Christians, whose "personally held religious beliefs protect them". -- The Republicans logic for this is this "Religious Freedom".

On the Senate floor, this was ACTUALLY STATED on the record: "bullying kids is okay if a student, parent, teacher or school employee can come up with a moral or religious reason for doing it.” Then these same politicians go on to say: "The special protections for gay and transgendered teachers will make it extremely difficult for [public school] districts that might want to remove them from the classroom."

In other words, these religious right nut-jobs believe that efforts to protect gays, atheists, and non-christians from assault and discrimination and bullying impinge on their "religious freedoms" to express and act on their belief that the beliefs of others (orientation or otherwise) is an abomination. --SICK.

This belief relies on a twisted sense of religious liberty. Freedom of religious expression does NOT extend to kicking the crap out of someone because their beliefs or orientation do not happen to agree with YOUR religious beliefs. It does not give someone the right to fire an employee because they don't share your views on religion or sexuality.

I wonder, would these same people trumpeting the banner of "religious freedom" would feel the same way about their rhetoric if a muslim student beat the crap out of a christian student because he felt that the christian student were an Infidel? I doubt it, they would be APALLED!

Makes me want to be a Christian, I can bully people, discriminate at will and have NO consequence whatsoever as long as I "claim" that it's a religious reason. No, I can't do that. There is NEVER a good reason to do those things based on someones beliefs, orientation, skin color etc.

If there was a Jesus I would guess based on the philosophies espoused in the Bible, he would have been disgusted by the whole idea of protecting one group of people from accountability based solely on Religion.

Ten Commandments for Atheists

While reading the news this morning I came across this story from USA Today. I thought it was great so I am reposting it here. You can read the original story here:

(RNS) In his new book, "God, No!" atheist magician Penn Jillette tells how he was challenged by conservative radio host Glenn Beck to come up with an atheist's version of The Ten Commandments.
By Sang Tan, AP

"I wanted to see how many of the ideas that many people think are handed down from (G)od really make sense to someone who says, 'I don't know.'"

Here's his list:

1. The highest ideals are human intelligence, creativity and love. Respect these above all.

2. Do not put things or even ideas above other human beings. (Let's scream at each other about Kindle versus iPad, solar versus nuclear, Republican versus Libertarian, Garth Brooks versus Sun Ra— but when your house is on fire, I'll be there to help.)

3. Say what you mean, even when talking to yourself. (What used to be an oath to (G)od is now quite simply respecting yourself.)

4. Put aside some time to rest and think. (If you're religious, that might be the Sabbath; if you're a Vegas magician, that'll be the day with the lowest grosses.)

5. Be there for your family. Love your parents, your partner, and your children. (Love is deeper than honor, and parents matter, but so do spouse and children.)

6. Respect and protect all human life. (Many believe that "Thou shalt not kill" only refers to people in the same tribe. I say it's all human life.)

7. Keep your promises. (If you can't be sexually exclusive to your spouse, don't make that deal.)

8. Don't steal. (This includes magic tricks and jokes — you know who you are!)

9. Don't lie. (You know, unless you're doing magic tricks and it's part of your job. Does that make it OK for politicians, too?)

10. Don't waste too much time wishing, hoping, and being envious; it'll make you bugnutty.

Update to Venting Post

So get this:

The head IDIOT (Coach) Suspended my son from the last game of the season for something he DIDN'T DO!

Yes, that's correct.

My wife and I proved he did nothing and that there wasn't an issue. The IDIOT decided to suspend him anyway. OK. He's stupid and a moron I get it. My son and I decided that since the last game of the season (the game he got suspended from) fell on MY BIRTHDAY (Yes, happy B-Day to me) that we would skip the game and do some father-son stuff together. He wanted to take me to lunch, play some video games etc. So, we skipped the game and did some stuff together.

No harm in that right? Not a big deal, he wasn't playing anyway. He didn't want to go, and I was irritated enough at the IDIOT that I didn't see the point in going either.

So, come to find out they LOSE their game. Ok. they lost most of the games they played this year, mostly due to inept coaching on his part but that is another story. I guess he did something to get himself kicked off the sidelines and couldn't be on the sidelines to coach. (Not sure what that was, I WASN'T there). Suddenly I am getting nasty emails and facebook posts claiming that I DID SOMETHING to cause this.

This is where I am confused, if I WASN'T THERE, how could I have done something to them? Sounds a bit like the 'blame game" and childish CRAP to me. Until Monday, when I got to work and checked my email I had NO IDEA that they had even had an issue at the game. I didn't check my facebook updates or anything all weekend so I had no idea there was any issue at all.

Needless to say, my son goes to school on Monday and kids from the team are saying it MY FAULT they lost. IT seems the IDIOT is telling the KIDS it's MY FAULT they lost. Not sure how, but he is for some reason hell bent on making me the exucse for his INEPT and terrible coaching and behavior.

Needless to say, my son will NOT be playing for those IDIOTS next year and I would encourage anyone that has kids that play sports to NOT sign them up for anything involving that IDIOT. I won't post his name or anything here since he would probably SUE me for stating the truth or some other garbage.

I am over it, really I am.

Stupid people just shouldn't breed.

Venting today

I need to vent a little today.

It appears that a boy on my son's football team has issues with my son and a couple of his friends. The issue in a nutshell is this: He annoys the crap out of my son and his friends, and when they get irritated enough to respond he runs home and cries "their picking on me mom!"

This has been going on for years now. He needles and needles and pushes buttons and really drives kids nuts then when they get mad it's "I was only kidding/joking/playing" and cries "they're bullying me!" or something similar. It's a damn joke, the worst part about it is this: My son has NEVER even so much as pushed the kid or gotten physical with him in all this time. He has vented and told the kid on multiple occasions to "shut up", "go away" etc.

Well, the reason for my venting on this is now this kid continually needles and pushes my son and probably 10 other kids pretty regularily, from what I understand one of the kids in the group got fed up and stated " I wanna kick his ass sooo bad" and what happens?

His MOMMY calls the Head Coach of the Football Team crying about how my son and his friends shouldn't be on the team if they are going to be threatening her "little angel".. BULLSHIT! HE needles the kids and when they get fed up, HE cries about it and this is what happens? I DON'T think so, it's a damn ridiculous JOKE.

So, now the Coach has to have a "team meeting" to discuss this, and WASTE time addressing a NON-ISSUE (at least as far as I can see). What needs to happen is this: That kid's parents need to tell him to stop annoying and bothering people. He uses "I'll tell Coach/Teacher/Mommy" if the kids get irritated and he KNOWS that at a minimum Mommy will back him up. Mommy, needs to stop being an "Attack helicopter parent" and teach her kid that actions have reactions.

It's simple - Don't go round pissing people off, and people won't want to change your facial landscape.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I am often), I teach my kid to behave and treat everyone with respect and dignity. Is it TOO DAMN MUCH to ask other parents to raise thier kids with common decent values? This kids family purports to be Christian (they're Mormons) but I DON'T see it...

Thanks for letting me Vent.

Separation of Church and State? (In God We Trust)?

I found this article on the First Church of Atheism Blog. (Please go there, and donate and help them help all Atheists everywhere). I think it's relevant:

By Rev. Chris Andersen

Throughout the course of my wanderings, the subject of religion and government has occasionally reared its head in discussions with friends, family, classmates, etc. While talking about the merits and negatives of including “In God We Trust” on our currency, I noticed a common statement: “It’s just four words. What does it matter?” The same is said concerning the phrase “One Nation Under God” in our pledge. On the surface, I may agree. My worry is that it will not end at just four words. So where will it end?

Hmmm, time for a brief history lesson:

A Gospel Minister, Rev. M. R. Watkinson, sent a letter in November 1861 to the Secretary of the Treasury. This was a time when religious fervor was en vogue during the Civil War. In the letter, Rev. Watkinson pleaded his case (from one Christian to another) that U.S. currency should recognize all mighty god in some form.

An excerpt from his letter:

“… no possible citizen could object. This would relieve us from the ignominy of heathenism. This would place us openly under the Divine protection we have personally claimed. From my hearth I have felt our national shame in disowning God as not the least of our present national disasters.”

Within seven days of the original letter, the Secretary of the Treasury set about the process of devising a motto to include on the nation’s coins. In God We Trust first appeared on U.S. coins three years later in 1864. The motto’s appearance on our coins came and went… and came and went… and well, you get the point. That changed during the McCarthy period when in 1956 the President approved a law passed by Congress which made IN GOD WE TRUST our national motto. Beginning the following year, our new national motto would be printed on U.S. currency… coin AND paper.

The passing of this law came on the heels of another landmark event. Congress added the words “under god” to the pledge of allegiance two years earlier in 1954. One of the arguments of the day was that reasonable people should not object to the addition of just two words (sounds remarkably similar to what the reverend had said nearly 100 years earlier).

A decade later, government and religion were back on the front pages. The non-theist population started asserting its voice. An Atheist mother was enraged that her tax money was being used to buy bibles for public schools. Worse than that was the mandate that her son would take part in bible readings and prayer while attending school. When her son opted out, he was beaten by his classmates while the school officials turned a blind eye. The mother brought suit against the board of education. In a nearly unanimous decision (8-1), the Supreme Court agreed that mandatory bible readings and school prayer were unconstitutional.

In the years since, many have argued that the establishment clause of the constitution either does not exist or does not apply because of past precedent. What precedent you may ask? You guessed it… Government endorsement of religion on U.S. currency, Government endorsement of religion through our national motto, Government endorsement of religion in our official pledge of allegiance.

People who want religion integrated more into our government / education / society often claim that a few liberal judges have hijacked the legal system and are legislating from the bench. This argument just doesn’t hold water. Judges have pointed to the establishment clause consistently over many decades. These are not isolated cases involving a few radical judges. The dual protections of the first amendment have been cited by dozens of courts and judges over a sustained period of time. Both liberal judges as well as ultra-conservative judges have pointed to the constitutional protections in their findings.

By keeping phrases such as “in god we trust” and “under god” in our official government psyche, we keep the door open for fundamentalists to claim precedent. The fight is ongoing to bring organized prayer and bible readings back into public schools. If the religious wing manages to get that through somehow, do you think they will be satisfied? They weren’t satisfied with having coins minted with “in god we trust”. They weren’t satisfied with having a religious national motto. They were not satisfied with making every citizen in the country acknowledge a god in order to pledge their allegiance to this nation and its flag.

If they gain momentum, what will be next? Will they once again start banning any books that are not in agreement with the bible? Strike classes from school curriculum which do not conform to biblical stories? This is not much of a stretch, but what will be next? Will we start enforcing more laws from the bible? Start snuffing out any atheistic movements as well as Wiccans and Satanists? After that we may move on to tell Muslims that they have their own countries they can live in. After all, this is a nation founded on CHRISTIAN principles. If we do not stay vigilant in the protection of the separation principles of the first amendment, we could end up like the people of England before the settlement of America; being forced to adhere to a narrow religious interpretation. This may not include Mormons. It may not include Jews. It may not include Protestants if the government happens to follow catholic principles instead. It is in everyone’s — religious or not — best interest to maintain a strict separation of church and state. By allowing religion into the government business, we allow government into religious business. I don’t think anyone really wants that.

It's been a while....

So,

It's been a while since I posted anything, for that I apologize. It's been a busy few months what with football coaching (little league) and work getting in the way. Speaking of work, I transferred from one project I was managing to an account now that has me managing a group of agents that take calls raising funds for an Evangelical Christian organization. Even my boss and the CEO of the company I work for find this HILARIOUS.

The group spouts all this venom towards Atheists on a regular basis and here I am managing the group of people that answer their phones and drive donations to keep them talking their garbage. I'm good at what I do, we do well and the 'group' gets their millions. It's just ironic that I am helping them continue their campaign of hate and intolerance.

The most hilarious thing about this though is the callers themselves, they are so very deluded that it makes for some very entertaining listening. It never fails to amaze me the way the religious mind works, these people will call in, all fired up about whatever issue the organization is pushing that day and want to voice their opinions on how the country is going to hell, how terrorists are allowed to build churches or better yet how Atheists are ruining their "Christian Country" (Last I checked, the U.S was NOT Christian but rather built on the idea that the U.S would be SECULAR) -- see the founding fathers notes in history if you disagree. You know, disputing the Ground Zero Cross etc. that one always makes me laugh since it's a couple metal beams that didn't fall down and just happen to be intersecting. All the idiot Christians think it's a great sign from God. IF it were a sign from God, and that's a BIG IF, God must be a real bastard. What was he thinking? "hey let's kill 2000+ people and then I will leave a couple metal beams that intersect and all the believers will suddenly see that as a sign that I care!" Wow, and they swallow this crap...Anyway, when the agents ask these callers for a donation to support this organization the callers come back with "Well, I need to pray about it." and hang up. It's DAMN hilarious, they all want to support God and fighting these issues but have to ask GOD if he's ok with it?

Idiots!!!!

It's almost as bad as: "Hey I understand you need help, so I am going to pray for you." Why don't they just say " I know you're suffering but, hey FUCK OFF. I am not doing anything for you but hoping things get better." Wow.....

I have given my sould to Jesus!

You didn't read the title of this post wrong. No, don't dispair, you too can be saved. After years of fighting against the tide and the sheer overwhelming evidence that God is REAL and Jesus came to earth to save us all, I have come to the conclusion that I was WRONG. There is scientific, empirical evidence that God exists and he is a kind, caring and loving God. Everything happens so that we can learn and grow and become better people for it. It's all about God's great plan for us to one day return to live with him in heaven.

Yes, brothers and sisters I am pontificating. I am witnessing. I have changed my ways. I will no longer find religion a backward, silly and generally comical belief structure where adults talk to imaginary friends and pretend to have magic powers to heal people etc. Moving forward, I no longer believe that it's a fantasy. It's reality! I want you all to know that you too can turn away from the devil spawn taking over this country called Atheism. You too can return to good standing with our Lord Jesus Christ! All you need to do is just throw out the proof, the evidence (lack of evidence) the contradictory nature of the Bible, the council of nicea and let's not forget the fact that all images you see of Christ in modern art etc. are ALL images of Constantine! Throw all that away, just believe and you too can be SAVED!!!

You just need to believe! That's it. Throw logic, common sense, science and intelligent thorough thought OUT THE WINDOW and just believe!

Makes good sense right?

The earth is flat!

Gravity is a myth!

So what if there is NO acheological proof of the Book of Mormon, it's REAL!

Leprechauns are REAL!

Santa Claus really comes down your chimney every Christmas!

The Easter Bunny delivers all the candy and eggs!

The tooth fairy delivers rebates now!

We are the ONLY intelligent life in an infinite universe!

The earth is ONLY 6,000 years old.

Fossils are of the DEVIL!

Believe all this and you too can be SAVED!! Just believe, throw out your IQ and just BELIEVE!!

It's all religion asks of you. That's it. Put your blinders on and you too can be SAVED!

Wait, who am I fooling? I can't do this. I'm sorry Christians, Muslims and every other religion on the planet. I can't do it. You can continue to believe in your fairy tales and fantasy friends.

I will stick to logic and reason.

I will stay an Atheist thanks. My world makes sense and I don't have to talk to invisible people to make my life better. I don't have to live in fear of HELL. I just do good for the sake of being a good person (that and it feels good to be a good person).

You enjoy your fantasies and I will enjoy my reason and logic.

Ray Comfort interviewed on The Atheist Experience

Ray Comfort making the same STUPID arguments made by every other theist out there. This guy called out Dawkins and THIS argument is the best he can come up with? I love that they shoot his pious butt down!!

Why football is better than religion?

Football..... I love Football..... the sounds, the strategy the hitting. All of it. Everything about football is GREAT. Not only do I love watching the game, I love coaching it with my son's little league coach. Helping the kids get a firmer grasp on the game, teaching them team work and life lessons. Football is a great thing.

Football is my 'religion'. It teaches you how to work with others, be a member of a team, work for a common goal and of course to respect authority (when the respect is EARNED). It also teaches you sportsmanship, fair play and all the good principles that go into being a responsible adult/ man. --all the things I work to teach my son every day.

I even attend 'church' with my son. It's called practice and game days. Also, for 5 months out of the year, Sundays we attend the 'Church of the NFL'. (Yes, we watch games on Sunday, I drink a beer and swear at the T.V.) ~~Perish the thought RIGHT?~~ Beer and SWEARING at the T.V. on Sunday's ~~ BLASPHEMY! Am I raising my son poorly? I don't think so. If you were to interview his grandparents (my side of the family) they would tell you he is the kindest, most respectful grandchild they have. Of course, my parents are an anomoly; they are TBM's yes, BUT they accept the FACT that my son is the son of an atheist and is not baptized nor blessed in the 'Church'. They accept and love him ANYWAY. My in-laws on the other hand, see him as 'godless' and keep sending books about the LDS faith and why it is true to our home. They take every opportunity to push faith on him. I understand it's done out of misguided love, it's still annoying. Needless to say, he isn't a fan of them and usually refuses to go to family functions without prodding from his mom and I since he knows it will be all about in his words "Jesus this, god that and why aren't you baptized?" He loves his grandparents, just can't be round them for too terribly long.

Back to football. The simple principles taught in football are more valuable to a young man's development than what he will learn in Sunday School. I know this, I went to Sunday School and didn't get to play football till I was older. My parents thought that it was more important that I participate in "church sports" where I would learn 'good principles' than to play organized football. I think looking back, that they were just doing what they thought was best, in reality I would have learned more about teamwork etc. had I played football at a younger age than I did playing "church sports". All I learned there was "don't swear or you'll have to go see the bishop". Nothing about teamwork etc. In Sunday School all you learned was what the "Mormon Propogana Machine" told the 'teachers' to spit out at you every Sunday from their 'teaching manuals'.

Don't get me wrong; not stealing, not hurting people and respecting your parents are good things to learn. I am not saying that religion didn't have it's place. I am positive though that teaching little kids to give up 10% of their babysitting money to the church or they go to 'outer darkness' is a terror tactic that is better served upon ADULTS. Not kids. --Football doesn't teach that. Football teaches VALUABLE lessons that you carry with you for life.

I grew and walked away (actually sprinted) from religion. I have NEVER left football. Football never lied to me. Football never asked me to spend 10% or they would take away my game. Football never forced me to interview with anyone to get into a 'game'. Football just is. You enjoy it, it entertains and teaches you. You don't have to give up your income and time UNLESS you freely choose to. There is never coercion from football.

Football is better than religion and serves a greater purpose. If you must pray to something, pray to a goal post. It will be just as effective and you won't have to give up your income and life to get into a game. You can watch football for free if you want to, it's on network TV.

Go play, watch and live.

Kid saw heaven? REALLY?!?!?

It truly amazes me, a kid says he has "been to Heaven, where everyone has wings" and of course that has to be real right? It couldn't have had ANYTHING to do with the fact that he was under general anesthesia while having his appendix removed? You can go here to see the video

Don't get me wrong, maybe he really did see heaven and maybe I am wrong to disbelieve the whole thing. What I find more likely than a little boy going to Heaven (He didn't die on the table like most people who claim "heaven visits" do) that his parents are pimping out the kid to sell his fathers 'conveniently written' book entitled "Heaven is for real".

It truly makes me sad to see parent's selling their kids on T.V. just to sell a book or worse to be 'famous'. Parents like this need to be looked at harshly, not treated as heroes for 'proving God is real'.

Everyone has wings? Really? wow, wonder what the Mormons, Jews and Muslims have to say about that?

Terry Jones? IDIOT Koran Burner.

I am sure you are aware of who Terry Jones is right?

That CRAZY lunatic that burned a Koran? Yes, that IDIOT.

This moron puts the Koran on trial for: "Murder, rape, bigotry and abusing people that aren't Muslim" Seriously? He doesn't use the same standard with the Bible. Had he done that, he would have had to burn a bible too...

Funny how he can put the Koran on trial but NOT the Bible? The two works of FICTION are so similar I don't understand how he and his little band of morons don't see it. Oh, wait he is a moron, that explains it, had he a sense of intelligence and logic in his flawed, unintelligent body he would have been able to see this and not done something that has caused the deaths of multiple INNOCENT people just to whore some more media attention for himself and his little group (30 people).

You can read the full story here.

No more attention for his stupid ass.

How am I supposed to be 'tolerant' of Islam or any religion?

Christian fundamentalists teach children to kill Atheists and Muslims in "bible camps". No, I'm not making it up, play the video above and you will see what I mean. It's sad and ridiculous at the same time. Not only are they teaching children decidedly un-christian behavior but they are PROUD of it!

The we have Mormon missionaries pushing baptism etc. on little kids and pushing wives to go against their husbands wishes. I have been through it (I won out) and my brother in law (Mormon411) has had the same issues.

The Islamic extremists fly planes into buildings, kidnap and torture then kill film makers for making documentaries they don't like. They declare fatwas on Matt Stone and Trey Parker due to being disrespectful of Mohammad on South Park. Really, South Park deserves a fatwa? The disrespect stems from them depicting Mohammad in a bear suit, Santa suit etc.
I am at a loss here. I am supposed to be tolerant of all this, turn a blind eye to this and just accept everyone's religious views as 'harmless' right? Don't get me wrong, I am a firm 'live and let live' guy. I just refuse to 'tolerate' bad behavior even if it is bad religious behavior.

Hey Christians, Mormons, Muslims. You don't like what I have to say, Say something about it. Tell me what you think. Stop being PUSSIES and say something. I know you read my blog, I see the traffic, It's funny you chickenshits will post all kinds of stuff on YOUR sites but hide from someone that is willing to debate with you.

Prove me wrong!

Religion can make you FAT!

WARNING: If you are a Church-Going, health conscious individual, you REALLY need to reconsider your situation!

There is a recent study done at Northwestern University that links obesity to going to church! They analyzed data from the Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults study, which followed more than 2,400 people aged 20 to 32 for 18 years. Over that time, the scientists reported at an American Heart Association conference, people who went to church or church activities at least once a week were more than twice as likely as people with no religious involvement to become obese. Not only does religion make you delusional and spend your time talking to imaginary friends (cruel, uncaring friends), but now you get to be overweight for your trouble.

If you are Mormon not only do you get to be FAT (See any and all "relief society" moms) for definitive proof of this, you get to give 10% of your income to the church that makes you FAT, less money for your health care, but hey you get to go to the temple and heaven right?

I am waiting to see how the Mormon church addresses this one! Should be entertaining to say the least....

See what I mean?

Talk about dysfunctional......

I was checking in on my Facebook updates and came across something in my news feed that made me feel great about divorcing my ex-wife all those years ago. Her family is still as dysfunctional as ever. After reading the comments and posts all I could do is sit back and breathe a sigh of relief that my family and my wife's family although religious and sometimes crazy don't ever behave like this with each other.

It's good to be fairly normal....

Check this out, tell me if you see what I saw....

Prayer, Huh! Good God Y'all what is it good for?

Yesterday, my wife, son and I had the pleasure of having Sunday dinner with my Mother and Father in-law. As far as dinners go with in-laws it went well I think. No arguments and no 'faith promoting' exercises which actually surprised me.

Of course, before we could eat they had to have the obligatory prayer over the food. Normally, I take this in stride. It's their house and I am all about respecting everyone and their beliefs in their homes. I would never consider being disrespectful of their desire to pray over their food. It is their house after all, and they do respect my wishes to NOT pray in my house.

The prayer itself is what always gets me. In the prayer they took the time to thank God for the food, being healthy etc. What I find odd is this: They didn't thank my wife for cooking it, me for buying it, the farmers for growing it, the truck drivers for transporting it, the processors for canning it etc. None of those people were worth thanking, just God who did NOTHING in preparing it, growing it or bringing it to the table. I am confused by this thought process. The people that ACTUALLY put the EFFORT into it get NO credit while an imaginary friend that does nothing gets ALL THE CREDIT.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this doesn't seem the way things should be. Even Jesus in the Bible thanks the fishermen and farmers for their efforts, but folks can't do that now.

Not sure about that....

An Evening interrupted

Last night, I was cuddling up on the couch with my wife to enjoy some prime time T.V. ( She is a huge NCIS fan). Just as the show was getting started, someone knocks on the door. Wouldn't you know it? It was the Missionaries! It seems some busy body (either my parents or hers) "sent them to check on us" I am guessing it was her father as he is the same guy that keeps telling every ward we move into where we live and all our contact information.

Being polite we let them come in, of course we kept the conversation away from anything to do with religion as much as possible. I really didn't feel like getting into a debate with two 19 year old kids that know NOTHING other than what they are taught at the MTC. I knew that conversation would have been completely fruitless and at best they would have left baffled, more than likely they would have left with "strengthened testimonies" since they would have survived an "encounter with an apostate".

We really tried hard to simply let them know that we are fine, have no issues and don't need any assistance from the Church, the missionaries and don't want to be 'fellow shipped back into the church'. They of course asked the obligatory questions about us: were we members, how long etc. they also asked if my son was baptized etc. I explained to them that No he wasn't baptized, blessed or ordained to any kind of priesthood calling (he's 12). the reasons for this are simple, I refuse to force my kid into mandatory membership in a church I not only disbelieve but vehemently oppose. I want him to make his own educated decisions when he is OLD enough to make that decision for himself. I then got the laugh of the evening -- They ASKED him how he felt about God. -- Let me paint this picture for you: he is in the kitchen playing a game on my laptop and the missionaries ask him "How do you feel about God?". Without missing a beat, my son shouts over his shoulder "God? Don't believe in fantasies" then goes back to his game. The shocked look on the missionaries faces was priceless, if I had a camera I would have taken a picture and posted it here. Their only response to him was "WHAA? but look at the computer you are sitting in front of." --  I know I was confused by this response too.

They then turned to me and asked me the same question. I looked at them straight faced and simply said, " Really, let's not go there. You don't want to start that debate right now." My wife started laughing and told the missionaries "He has made bishops question their faith, don't go there with him." the missionaries just sat there for a minute or so not saying anything. After a few seconds of dead silence one missionary looked at the clock on the living room wall and said " We better get going, curfew is almost up for us." They then stood up, shook hands with me and left.

It took a damn hour for them to leave, not that I was offended by their arrival, just annoyed. The bonus was, I have a DVR so my wife didn't have to miss her show. Well that and my son got to shock a missionary. Not a totally wasted evening, just an evening interrupted.

I do wonder though, how will they report this encounter to their mission president? Will it be, "former members, need no help" or will they tell the story of the encounter?

Sometime this year, my wife and I are going to request our names be removed from the membership roles. When that happens, I am expecting many more visits from missionaries, bishops etc.

When I do, I will let ya'll read that too.

Scientific Proof of God??

While browsing the internet I came upon a site that purports to prove God exists SCIENTIFICALLY! This of course intrigues me as I have never in my life met anyone that could definitively prove that God exists via science. I read their article and am going to respond to it here. You can read the article here if you want to see that I didn't take anything there out of context. My responses to the article will be italicized for easy differentiation.

Before we can discuss the existence of scientific proof of God, we need to identify what we mean by proof. Also, to know what type of evidence supporting the existence of God would be considered by science, we also need to know which definition of science applies.
Interesting isn't it? Before we can even begin, we have to define what "is" is. Since there is ONLY one definition of science I am already skeptical of the entire article.

The definition of science has changed within the last century from an overall search for truth to a more limited scope of natural explanations of natural processes. Using the current narrow scope definition, there is not any scientific proof of God. The truth or untruth of this statement is not based upon evidence or lack of evidence, but by definition alone. Even though there is extensive, solid evidence for God’ s existence, none of that evidence would be admissible in the science court of law using the current definition.

Interesting! Let's see if I have this correct. Science says there is NO GOD, in order to make your argument you are now going to throw out the accepted scientific definition and decide to go with the definition (right or wrong) that best suits your argument. Not sure how credible your argument is going to be, but I am willing to see where you take this.

Consequently, to know what evidence really supports the existence of God, we need to base our statements on the old classic definition of science to eliminate the disqualification of the evidence. The kind of evidence we need to consider is the same type that would be admissible in a court of law.

The level of proof is different in a criminal court than a civil court. In a civil court the prosecution only needs to prove that the preponderance of evidence tips the scales in their direction. Alternatively, in a criminal court a higher level of proof is required. The prosecutor needs to provide evidence that proves the defendant is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

What types of evidence are admissible in courtrooms? These include direct evidence such as fingerprints, DNA, or eyewitness accounts. Also, circumstantial evidence is normally admissible unless it is abnormally weak. Although circumstantial evidence is indirect, it can be powerful evidence to prove guilt or innocence.

I see, so in order to prove that God exists, we are now going from SCIENTIFIC proof which is what the author purported to be proving to now LEGAL proof. The kind of evidence/proof that would be acceptable in a CIVIL court, since Criminal courts would require ACTUAL proof beyond a reasonable doubt. The author is going with the weakest possible standard of evidence here. Typical creationist mantra, we will PRETEND to use proof and science when in REALITY we will simply use smoke and mirrors and lots of verbiage to prove NOTHING.

Scientific Proof of God – The Evidence
First, the non-existence of God cannot be proven. One cannot prove a universal negative. Alternatively, the existence of God is provable.
Let me get this straight. Since I cannot prove the non-existence of God, God must therefore exist? Using this logic, I must also accept that The Flying Spaghetti Monster, all the Greek Gods, Mesopotamian Gods, Egyptian Gods, Allah, Aliens, The Loch Ness Monster, The Kraken, Giant Ship Killing Squids, Vampires, Werewolves and the Borg MUST all exist? The argument itself is ridiculous, you cannot simply say "since you can't prove it doesn't exist, it must." and call that an intelligent argument.

Since everything listed above must now be considered a universal truth, then I think the people of planet earth have some serious issues to work through. Which supreme being should you be following since they all exist? And, if they all exist shouldn't we all be worshiping all of them just to be safe? I can see that now, human sacrifice on Monday and dancing and praying to Allah on Thursday with Tuesdays being set aside to burial rituals and the weekends for talking with our Alien brethren.

The concept, design, and intricate details of our world necessitate an intelligent designer.

All I have to say here is: "Big Bang" anyone? This isn't proof, it's the same silly religious argument that I hear every time I discuss this with someone that is going to argue the existence of God.

Both direct and indirect evidence for God’s existence are well known and well documented. Nothing in history is better known or better documented than the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We even use the year of His birth as the basis for our calendar. He perfectly matched the over 100 unique Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament regarding His birth, life, death, and resurrection. The laws of probability cannot give us a reasonable explanation for either the Messianic predictions or the resurrection, let alone both by the same person.

Jesus’ miracles were witnessed by many and were documented redundantly for additional corroboration. He was seen by at least 500 people after His resurrection. He was seen ascending into heaven. His transfiguration was seen by Peter, James, and John. His wisdom in dealing with many circumstances was astounding. He never promoted Himself or His miracles. C. S. Lewis stated that He couldn’t have just been a good teacher. He was either a liar, lunatic, or Lord. He didn’t even come close to meeting the profile of a liar or lunatic, so He had to be God.

First, the ONLY documentation of Jesus Christ is the Bible. Since the Bible cannot be considered a credible source of information - see the Council of Nicaea - and Constantine's efforts to make himself the image of Jesus Christ. (Constantine commissioned ALL the images currently of Christ and they are all Constantine). The calendar argument doesn't hold water as again that goes to Constantine and his efforts to deify himself. The predictions in the Old and New Testaments cannot be considered credible as there is NO definitive proof as to when the specific prophesies were written or included in the canonized scripture. The miracles referred to again cannot be proven to have occurred as there is NO collaborative proof outside of the Bible itself. If there were proof, it would have been not only constantly referred to but one of the biggest discoveries of this century. Also, the story of Jesus Christ is strikingly similar to the story of Osiris of Egyptian mythos as well as the stories of Hercules and many other Greek and Roman mythologies, not to mention Mohamed. C.S. Lewis had it right, IF Jesus did exist he was a lunatic.

Jesus Christ also supported the truth of the Old Testament and quoted it many times. Consequently, with Jesus Christ, we have an eyewitness to the truth of the Old Testament. This gives credibility to the creation account and God’s interaction with man. The entire Old Testament account is about how God is trying to have a relationship with man while man is separating himself from God by sin. It tells how God is long-suffering and merciful and ultimately how God sent His Son to die for our sins so God could ultimately have a relationship with us.

Now we have completely gotten away from any kind of SCIENTIFIC PROOFS. Since the Bible itself was not canonized till well after the alleged time of Jesus Christ, any quotes where Jesus referred to the Old Testament cannot be regarded with credibility as all accounts of Jesus Christ are written by people OTHER than Christ himself. Also, since all interaction with God took the form of burning bushes etc. How much of what is written can be taken seriously? To do so would be to also take the work of fiction known as the Book of Mormon as literal truth, when anyone that has looked into it knows that Joseph Smith tried to SELL that scripture as FICTION with HIMSELF as the author. Given that information how credible is a book written 1000+ years ago that is a COMPILATION and incomplete at that, that has NO credible scientific or archeological backing?

God’s interaction with man in the Old Testament was often and powerful. Some of the main interactions included Adam, Cain, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, the Israelites, the prophets, and the kings. In addition to Jesus’ testimony to the truth of the Old Testament, ancient manuscripts, archaeology, and internal consistency also testify to its truth. Consequently, much direct evidence including eyewitness accounts and indirect evidence corroborate the existence of God and the truth of the Bible.

Interesting isn't it? Still referring to the Bible as the "Scientific proof" of the existence of God. Using the testimony of an individual whose existence is debatable would be like arguing that Darth Vader exists because there are written accounts of his existence. Wait! Scientology is doing almost exactly that! Does that mean that L.Ron Hubbard is as credible as any Old Testament Prophet? Not in my book, but using the logic above he would have to be. Ancient Manuscripts? So if the writing is OLD it must be accurate? If that argument is to be used, then we MUST accept everything written that predates 1ad. as accurate and correct. If we did this, we would all be worshiping hundreds of Gods and sacrificing our friends and neighbors on a regular basis. The archaeology argument only works if all you are looking at is that a city listed in the Bible exists. Of course it would, who would write about cities and places and try to be credible to the PEOPLE of their TIME using made up places?

Eye witnesses and indirect accounts? Seriously? That cannot even be justified with a legitimate response outside of then stating that using that logic, we must then assume that all Alien encounters reported are factual and people the world over are being kidnapped by little green men and getting anal probed. We must also then accept that Vampires and Werewolves live among us and are plotting to one day rule the world as there are tons of indirect evidence to support this.

It is obvious to me that the author of the quoted article above cannot and will never be able to PROVE scientifically or otherwise of the existence of God let alone their own intelligence. Correct me if I am wrong, I don't see that the author has proven anything other than their undying illogical belief in something that they cannot and refuse to prove empirically.

Where were the Prophets and Popes?

We have tsunamis hitting Japan, earthquakes destroying entire island nations, entire marinas in California wrecked, wars and civil unrest breaking out all over the Middle East, and economic collapse world wide. In all of this, there has not been ONE prediction or warning of impending doom coming from the "One True Prophet of God" (Mormon Prophet) or "Gods Mouthpiece on Earth" (the Pope)..

Interesting that the two fellas that claim to talk to God on a regular basis weren't aware in the LEAST that any of these issues above along with myriad others were about to happen. No warnings, no admonitions to change our ways (see prophets of the bible) NOTHING..

Anyone notice any kind of pattern here? It seems that the 'Prophets' of today just don't seem to either get the message from God or just don't care to share it. Either way, why follow a callous uncaring leader who communicates with a callous uncaring God?

If you have good reason why I should, PLEASE feel free to tell me. At this point, I just don't see it.

God Makers? Interesting little clip

I found this on YouTube and thought I would share it. It is still preaching love "god" which I don't but the truth about the Mormon Faith is there as well which is worth sharing....

Counting my 'many blessings'

A comment on another blog got me thinking about this and it has festered for a few days so I have had to put my own thoughts out there.

Primarily in the LDS inc. culture there is this propensity to 'count your blessings' - there are even hymns you sing in church telling you to do so. Of course when a member is talking about 'counting blessings' they are taking everything good or remotely positive and attributing it to either God's favor on them or their own faith/righteousness. This is because the culture of LDS inc. for TBM's is that you must publicly declare to all members how 'blessed' by the lord you are for being such a good TBM. If you don't believe me ask any TBM to tell you about their faith and the church. The first thing they will do is tell you how 'blessed they are' to be members, the next thing is they will tell you that Joe Smith (Creator of the great fiction (BOM)) is a 'true prophet of god' . after that they will go into a bunch of mindless drivell about any number of subjects, it will all sound very sincere and they will tell you to read the BOM and pray about it and that you too will see the truth and know that LDS inc. is the 'one true church'. If you use logic and reason, you will see through all that, I could go on in great detail, but I digress. This post was about counting blessings wasn't it?

Here are my blessings attributed to God etc.:

1) My job. Without the lord in my life, I am POSITIVE I wouldn't have the job I have held for nearly a decade. All the hard work and effort I put are all thanks to the 'man upstairs'.

2)My family. The lord has given my my wife and son who I am positive I wouldn't have in my life if the lord hadn't put them there. It is a forgone conclusion that I NEVER would have met my wife had the lord not decided to have us BOTH work at the same job and be physically attracted to each other.

3)My Dog. You guessed it the lord delivered the dog to me. If the lord hadn't put the dog in my living room, he wouldn't be there.

4)My successful recovery from recent surgery. The lord healed me, not modern medicine, not any amount of rest. it was prayer and faith that healed me, it had absolutely NOTHING to do with the surgeon or medical staff at the hospital that fixed my issue, it was the lord.

5)My great driving record. I haven't had so much as a parking ticket in 10+ years. That is all thanks to the lord above. He keeps me safe, keeps my foot light on the gas pedal and keeps me driving like a responsible, intelligent person that LOVES low insurance premiums.

6)NFL and NBA. You got it. GOD is responsible for professional sports! Without GOD there would be no sports and no Sunday fall enjoyment for me. I wouldn't be a skin's or jazz fan if it wasn't for the lord.

7)The internet. This had nothing to do with all the pioneers of technology out there experimenting and trying new things. This had nothing to do with anyone mortal. The lord created the internet to make it easier to spread his word to everyone. God is the most searched term on the internet right? Oh, wait that title goes to porn. Sorry god you don't get that one.

I am sure there are many more blessings that we can all attribute to god. I could probably write a 50,000 word post on all the blessings that god has given me. Anyone else have any other blessings that I missed. I mean I am sure that there are many of you that have lots of things to thank the lord above for right?

Let's list em out!

Your church is the right one?? What about these??

I decided to do some research and found that there are so many religions out there, and it AMAZES me that any ONE group would seriously try and sell the "we are the right ones" mantra. There are more than I am going to list here but these are some of the most ENTERTAINING Religions out there.

Without too much fan fare:

10: Scientology --
Scientology has featured on a previous list, but if I didn’t include it here the comments would be inundated with “where’s scientology?” questions. The Church of Scientology is a cult created by L Ron Hubbard (Elron) in 1952 as an outgrowth of his earlier self-help system called Dianetics. The Church of Scientology holds that at the higher levels of initiation (OT levels) mystical teachings are imparted that may be harmful to unprepared readers. These teachings are kept secret from members who have not reached these levels. In the OT levels, Hubbard explains how to reverse the effects of past-life trauma patterns that supposedly extend millions of years into the past. Among these advanced teachings is the story of Xenu (sometimes Xemu), introduced as an alien ruler of the “Galactic Confederacy.” According to this story, 75 million years ago Xenu brought billions of people to Earth in spacecraft resembling Douglas DC-8 airliners, stacked them around volcanoes and detonated hydrogen bombs in the volcanoes. The thetans then clustered together, stuck to the bodies of the living, and continue to do this today. Scientologists at advanced levels place considerable emphasis on isolating body thetans and neutralizing their ill effects.

9: Creativity Movement
The Creativity Movement (formerly known as World Church Of The Creator), is a white separatist organization that advocates the whites-only religion, Creativity. It was also a descriptive phrase used by Ben Klassen, that included all adherents of the religion. The use of the term creator does not refer to a deity, but rather to themselves (white people). Despite the former use of the word Church in its name, the movement is atheistic. Creativity is a White Separatist religion that was founded by Ben Klassen in early 1973 under the name Church of the Creator. After Klassen’s death in 1993, Creativity almost died out as a religion until the New Church of the Creator was established three years later by Matthew F. Hale as its Pontifex Maximus (high priest), until his incarceration in January 2003 for plotting with the movement’s head of security, Anthony Evola (an FBI informant), to murder a federal judge.

8:Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth
Obviously spelling is not a fundamental part of this religion! Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth (TOPY) was founded in 1981 by members of Psychic TV, Coil, Current 93, and a number of other individuals. The ever-evolving network is a loosely federated group of people operating as a unique blend of artistic collective, and practitioners of magic. TOPY is dedicated to the manifestation of magical concepts lacking mysticism or the worship of gods. The group focuses on the psychic and magical aspects of the human brain linked with “guiltless sexuality”. Throughout its existence, TOPY has been an influential group in the underground Chaos magic scene and in the wider western occult tradition. TOPY’s research has covered both Left-hand path and Right-hand path magick, various elements of psychology, art, music, and a variety of other media. Some of the influences on the network have been Aleister Crowley, Austin Osman Spare, and Brion Gysin.

7: Nation of Yahweh
The Nation of Yahweh is a predominantly African-American religious group that is the most controversial offshoot of the Black Hebrew Israelites line of thought. They were founded in 1979 in Miami by Hulon Mitchell, Jr., who went by the name Yahweh ben Yahweh. Their goal is to return African Americans, whom they see as the original Israelites, to Israel. The group departs from mainstream Christianity and Judaism by accepting Yahweh ben Yahweh as the Son of God. In this way, their beliefs are unique and distinct from that of other known Black Hebrew Israelite groups. The group has engendered controversy due to legal issues of its founder and has also faced accusations of being a black supremacist cult by the Southern Poverty Law Center and The Miami Herald. The SPLC has criticized the beliefs of the Nation of Yahweh as racist, stating that the group believed blacks are “the true Jews” and that whites were “white devils.” They also claim the group believed Yahweh ben Yahweh had a Messianic mission to vanquish whites and that they held views similar to the Christian Identity movement.

6:Church of all worlds
The Church of All Worlds is a neo-pagan religion founded in 1962 by Oberon Zell-Ravenheart and his wife Morning Glory Zell-Ravenheart. The religion evolved from a group of friends and lovers who were in part inspired by a fictional religion of the same name in the science fiction novel Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein; the church’s mythology includes science fiction to this day. They recognize “Gaea,” the Earth Mother Goddess and the Father God, as well as the realm of Faeries and the deities of many other pantheons. Many of their ritual celebrations are centered on the gods and goddesses of ancient Greece. Following the tradition of using fiction as a basis for his ideas, Zell-Ravenheart recently founded The Grey School of Wizardry inspired in part by Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the school in the Harry Potter novels.

5:Universe People
Universe people or Cosmic people of light powers (Czech: Vesmírní lidé sil světla) is a Czech religious movement centered around Ivo A. Benda. Its belief system is based upon the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations communicating with Benda and other “contacters” since October 1997 telepathically and later even by direct personal contact. According to Benda those civilizations operate a fleet of spaceships, led by Ashtar Sheran, orbiting the Earth. They closely watch and help the good and are waiting to transport their followers into another dimension. The Universe People’s teachings incorporate various elements from ufology (some foreign “contacters” are credited, though often also renounced after a time as misguided or deceptive), Christianity (Jesus was a “fine-vibrations” being) and conspiracy theories (forces of evil are supposed to plan compulsory chipping of the population).

4: The Church of the Sub Genius
The Church of the SubGenius is a parody religion that promotes slack, while in a meta-commentarial way, satirizes religion, conspiracy theories, UFOs, and popular culture. The church claims to have been founded in the 1950s by the “world’s greatest salesman” J. R. “Bob” Dobbs. “Bob” Dobbs is depicted as a cartoon of a Ward Cleaver-like man smoking a pipe. The church really started with the publication of SubGenius Pamphlet #1 in 1979. It found acceptance in underground pop-culture circles and has been embraced on college campuses, in the underground music scene, and on the Internet. An important SubGenius event occurred on July 5, 1998: X-Day. The Church had been predicting that on this day the world would be destroyed by invading alien armies known as the X-ists (which is short for “Men from Planet X”). When the event didn’t come to pass, the church administrator who predicted it was tarred and feathered – but allowed to continue on as administrator. Paul Reubens (Pee-wee Herman) is a SubGenius minister. Patrick Volkerding, the founder and maintainer of Slackware Linux, is also a SubGenius affiliate, and he has confirmed the Church and “Bob” inspired the name for Slackware. -- This is probably my CHOICE for TRUE RELIGION!!

3: Prince Phillip Movement

The Prince Philip Movement is a cargo cult of the Yaohnanen tribe on the southern island of Tanna in Vanuatu. The Yaohnanen believe that Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the consort to Queen Elizabeth II, is a divine being, the pale-skinned son of a mountain spirit and brother of John Frum. According to ancient tales the son travelled over the seas to a distant land, married a powerful lady and would in time return. The villagers had observed the respect accorded to Queen Elizabeth II by colonial officials and came to the conclusion that her husband, Prince Philip, must be the son from their legends. When the cult formed is unclear, but it is likely that it was sometime in the 1950s or 1960s. Their beliefs were strengthened by the royal couple’s official visit to Vanuatu in 1974 when a few villagers had the opportunity to observe the prince from afar. Prince Philip was made aware of the religion and has exchanged gifts with its leaders and even visited them.

2: The Church of Euthanasia
The Church of Euthanasia (CoE), is a political organization started by the Reverend Chris Korda (pictured above) in the Boston, Massachusetts area of the United States. According to the church’s website, it is “a non-profit educational foundation devoted to restoring balance between Humans and the remaining species on Earth.” The CoE uses sermons, music, culture jamming, publicity stunts and direct action combined with an underlying sense of satire and black humor to highlight Earth’s unsustainable population. The CoE is notorious for its conflicts with Pro-life Christian activists. According to the church’s website, the one commandment is “Thou shalt not procreate”. The CoE further asserts four principal pillars: suicide, abortion, cannibalism (“strictly limited to consumption of the already dead”), and sodomy (“any sexual act not intended for procreation”). Slogans employed by the group include “Save the Planet, Kill Yourself”, “Six Billion Humans Can’t Be Wrong”, and “Eat a Queer Fetus for Jesus”, all of which are intended to mix inflammatory issues to unnerve those who oppose abortion and homosexuality.

1: Nuwaubianism

Nuwaubianism is an umbrella term used to refer to the doctrines and teachings of the followers of Dwight York. The Nuwaubians originated as a Black Muslim group in New York in the 1970s, and have gone through many changes since. Eventually, the group established a headquarters in Putnam County, Georgia in 1993, which they have since abandoned. York is now in prison after having been convicted on money laundering and child molestation charges, but Nuwaubianism endures. York developed Nuwaubianism by drawing on a wide range of sources which include Theosophy-derived New Age movements such as Astara as well as the Rosicrucians, Freemasonry, the Shriners, the Moorish Science Temple of America, the revisionist Christianity & Islam and the Qadiani cult of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the numerology of Rashad Khalifa, and the ancient astronaut theories of Zecharia Sitchin. White people are said in one Nuwaubian myth to have been originally created as a race of killers to serve blacks as a slave army, but this plan went awry. Here is a list of some of the more unusual Nuwaubian beliefs:
1. It is important to bury the afterbirth so that Satan does not use it to make a duplicate of the recently-born child
2. Furthermore, some aborted fetuses survive their abortion to live in the sewers, where they are being gathered and organized to take over the world
3. People were once perfectly symmetrical and ambidextrous, but then a meteorite struck Earth and tilted its axis causing handedness and shifting the heart off-center in the chest
4. Each of us has seven clones living in different parts of the world
5. Women existed for many generations before they invented men through genetic manipulation
6. Homo sapiens is the result of cloning experiments that were done on Mars using Homo erectus
7. Nikola Tesla came from the planet Venus
8. The Illuminati have nurtured a child, Satan’s son, who was born on 6 June 1966 at the Dakota House on 72nd Street in New York to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis of the Rothschild/Kennedy families. The Pope was present at the birth and performed necromantic ceremonies. The child was raised by former U.S. president Richard Nixon and now lives in Belgium, where it is hooked up bodily to a computer called “The Beast 3M” or “3666.”
The Nuwaubians built a city modelled on Ancient Egyptian buildings in Putnam County, Georgia

Since these folks obviously are all the "one true faith" I guess I will have to continue to be confused and flustered. Naw, I'm an atheist, this is all just fun for me. I think tomorrow I will find the weirdest practices of main stream religions and talk about them next!!
