Religious views in Public Education?

In Cape Town South Africa a Science teacher was forced to QUIT his job after being reprimanded for teaching evolution.

Let me repeat that:

No, that wasn't a typo. You can read the story here.

This is just rediculous. Seriously?!? Teaching evolution, natural selection is a bad thing? What, we should only be educating our children in the ways of the force? What the hell is happening?

I suppose it makes more sense to teach our children that an all powerful, magical being that has NO beginning snapped his fingers and created a diverse world full of amazing creatures that EVOLVE and ADAPT over time (this has been PROVEN) and then this magical, omnipotent being makes sure to deny that evolution is possible. Plants dinosaur bones to confuse and confound the people of the planet in question and has crazy people write a violent poorly written book with conflicting information and instructions to follow which should you choose to follow it will have you sent to "hell" no matter what you do since there is no way to truly win.

That is much better than evolution and natural selection right?

Wow. All I can say is Wow.

I am happier now more than ever that I am an Atheist and can see the truth of things.
